I’m not a die-hard list person, but I do find that, being a chronic prevaricator, making a to do list does actually encourage me to do. It seems to increase the satisfaction of having done it too.
I don’t think I’ve made a list of what I like since I believed in Santa Claus. Sometimes life got so busy that I just didn’t have time to think about what I liked or didn’t like. For a long time I didn’t even know what I liked but I do believe I am ready to make a list now! So here goes….
- Sunsets
- Rainbows, especially double rainbows
- Snow
- The wind blowing through the corn somewhere in Suffolk
- Windy, pebbly beaches and coastal walks, perhaps south coast of UK
- Deserted, calm sandy beaches, perhaps Bali
- Conversation
- Bacon
- Theater
- Lead light windows (real ones)
- Long train journeys
- A long gin & tonic with ice and lemon
- Ferries, especially ones that serve breakfast
- Bridges
- Magnolias, jasmine, frangipani and jacaranda
- The smell of rain on wet earth
- Dogs
- Street Art
- Loud music when driving
- Strong coffee
ETA (most important)
Babies
All kinds of New Stationery
It’s a beautiful list! 🙂

You’ve inspired me to do the same. Thank you! One thing I’ve already thought: for the first time since I started working decades ago, I will be able to enjoy the snow. No worries about having to drive in it. Just bask in the beauty of it. Not that I’m rushing winter, but (finally!) snow’s a nice thing to look forward to!

We don’t see much snow in Sydney. I remember it as a child. It had a slight smell that I can’t describe, muffled sounds, was soft under your feet and a made a squeaky noise when rolled into a ball. Another temporary thing -afterwards you get slush!

Ah yes, you can never get to the pot of gold at the end. I love mysteries too!

You write the most thoughtful & thought-provoking insights! “Another temporary thing-afterwards you get slush!” Just that statement alone merits in-depth pondering! Thank you! …You’ve inspired me to gift myself with a retirement present of an amazing books of snowflake photos; I borrowed it from the library two years ago. Thank you!

Oh you should, I have seen someone online who only studies only snowflakes. Maybe that is their book!
